Shore Gold

Unlike the name suggests, Shore Gold Inc. (SGF) is mainly into diamonds.  Headquartered in Saskatoon, this mining company has slowly been progressing towards a possible diamond mine in the Fort à la Corne area of Saskatchewan – an area located between Prince Albert and Nipawin.  The Fort à la Corne area of Saskatchewan contains one of the largest kimberlite fields in the world.

The Star Diamond Project is well down feasibility path, but the decision to mine has yet to be made.  The beauty of this diamond mine would be it’s proximity to infrastructure such at roads and cities as well as workers.  Other Canadian diamond mines in the North West Territories are hundreds of kilometres away from any city.

Hopefully, we can soon add diamonds to the growing list of natural resources being mined in Saskatchewan.
