CNN and Saskatchewan

I guess Saskatchewan has hit the big time.

CNN has done a story about Saskatchewan where they describe that we are still doing fairly well economically compared to the rest of North America.  Of course, there is the necessary jab about how flat and cold it is here.  Actually, most of the article describes the richness of our resources and how Premier Brad Wall is spreading the news of our continued good fortune.

For years, Saskatchewan was at the bottom of many people’s lists for a place to live or even to visit.  With a depressed farm economy and few business opportunities for so many years, we had become used to being looked at as a place to move away from.  Before this steep economic downturn Saskatchewan was just starting to get rolling as a place many people wanted to start a business and a life here.  Currently, we still have far better opportunities here that others around the world.  The economic tide will eventually turn positive again and we should be in a position take advantage of all the investment that will come with it.

Let’s hope that Saskatchewan can continue to ride out these tough financial times and when the global economy starts heating up again, we will all be sitting at the top, riding the wave.
