August is when the ball really gets rolling at Parcel Y at River Landing.
One of two office buildings planned for Parcel Y at River Landing will see construction begin at the site in August. The office tower is part of the larger project that includes a 15-storey hotel, a 20-storey condo, a second office tower, and a public plaza. Blair Sinclair with Triovest, a company involved in building the many different aspects of Parcel Y, says the building has been gaining popularity and most of their office spaces already have verbal agreements in place. Sinclair says the hotel-condo project is expected to begin construction on the buildings themselves in August as well. The three-level parkade under the hotel-condo combo has been in construction for 3 months now. Right now, there are still around 20 units available in the 125-unit condo. Originally, the plans only included 105 units, but the condo was expanded by 4 floors earlier this year. The hotel has 156 rooms, and will include a ground floor restaurant or bar. The cost of the hotel-condo project is $85 million. Finally, the public plaza is still up in the air. Sinclair notes there is a meeting between all parties this week to discuss what the plaza will look like. The hotel is set to open in Fall 2018, while the condo is to open in early 2019.
