Three people are being highlighted for their actions at the Canadian Red Cross Power of Humanity Awards luncheon in April.
Sherwood and Elaine Sharfe will receive the 2018 Saskatoon Humanitarian Award in recognition of their work with human rights and their philanthropy. One recent project through a donation to the Concentus Citizenship Education Foundation means education resources for Kindergarten to Grade 12 classrooms. Jack Saddleback receives the 2018 Saskatoon Young Humanitarian of the Year award in recognition of his work advocating for mental health and human rights. Growing up as a genderqueer child, he faced bullying and discrimination which led him to working in the mental health field and advocating for Indigenous peoples, Trans peoples and the Queer community. Tickets for the event are available through the link with this story and all proceeds fund Red Cross programs in the province.
