It may seem like a broken record, but a new benchmark has been set for natural gas consumption in Saskatchewan.
SaskEnergy says this holiday season alone three records were shattered, between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day with consumption 7 per cent greater than last year's benchmark. The all-time record from Boxing Day is 1.43 PetaJoules. Last winter's record was 1.33. Friday's numbers aren't in yet, but SaskEnergy expects 1.4 PetaJoules or more for Friday through Sunday. SaskPower is expecting to set new records as well, with people keeping their vehicles plugged in almost 24-7. (CJGX)
