It's the final day of the annual Nutrien Wintershines Festival in Saskatoon, with over 90 events in total between January 27th and today.
They include the always popular soup cook-off, dance performances, a Chinese pre-New Year celebration, events in the igloo at the Farmers' Market site, and the indoor winter wonderland carnival, which is also at the Farmers' Market. One of the organizers, Shad Ali, says if you are attending on the final day you will notice Marvel comic characters in the ice sculptures, complementing the "Marvel-ous Winter" theme for the festival. He hopes Wintershines will give everyone a chance to appreciate what this season of snow and ice brings us. Wintershines continues until 6 tonight.
