Hilltops quarterback Jared Andreychuk may not have been named a conference all-star but there’s a good reason for that.
Thursday morning Andreychuck (pictured) was named the Prairie Football Conference most valuable player. The fifth year grad of Centennial High School in Saskatoon led the league with 23 touchdown passes while also only throwing six interceptions in the regular season. Andreychuk also finished third in the conference with 2,008 passing yards, which is one of the highest marks in Hilltop history, while completing 124 of his 200 pass attempts. Additionally, running back Josh Ewanchyna and punter Nik Hunchak were named to the PFC all-rookie team. Ewanchyna finished eigth in the league with 547 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Hunchak averaged 35.5 yards on 33 punts. The Hilltops continue practicing this week in advance of hosting Calgary in the PFC final Sunday at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.
