Saskatoon to Host the Battle on the Prairies Boxing Championship
Saskatoon, SK – April 19, 2017 – Saskatoon Sports Tourism and Page Professional Sports are pleased to announce the Battle on the Prairies Boxing Championship will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Prairieland Park Hall E.
On the docket for the night will be Saskatoon’s own Paul Bzdel VS Montreal’s Adam Green for the Canadian Professional Boxing Council (CPBC) Canadian Middleweight Championship. Other bouts include Saskatoon’s Ian Abbot VS Julio Escoria (Lightweight), Dale Daniels VS Chad Thrun (Cruiseweight), Rawleigh Clemments-Willis VS Maakheille Wedderburn (Cruiseweight), Kian Heida VS Ken Huben (Cruiseweight) Wayne Smith VS Jesse McMillan (Lightweight), and TJ Flett VS Andrew Kielbasowyex (Light Middleweight).
“This fight card will be even more thrilling and exciting than past cards,” said Dennis Page, Event Promoter. “It will be an evening of firsts. It’s the first time the Canadian Middleweight Championship has been held in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan, and it will be Paul Bzdel’s first title defense. It’ll be a great championship evening for all.”
“Saskatoon’s boxing fans aren’t going to want to miss this one,” said Heather Bury, Sport and Event Sales Executive for Saskatoon Sports Tourism. “There’s a lot of talent here and it’s a great opportunity to cheer on our hometown boxers, Paul Bzdel and Ian Abbot. Doors open at 6:00 pm with the fights beginning at 7:00 pm. General admission tickets are $40.
