The second overall pick in last year’s bantam draft is joining the Saskatoon Blades for the rest of the season.
Fifteen-year-old forward Kirby Dach has been recalled for the rest of the season from his midget triple-A team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. With a rash of injuries, the Saskatoon Blades were granted permission from the WHL and Hockey Alberta to re-call Dach for the balance of the season. Normally
Normally fifteen-year-old players are only allowed to play a maximum of five regular season games with their WHL team during the season until their midget team has finished their year. The early recall was allowed because Dach’s Fort Saskatchewan Rangers will not make the playoffs in the Alberta Midget Triple-A League.
In four regular season games with the Blades Dach has one assist, in 22 games of midget triple-A he has six goals and 20 assists. Dach will join the Blades today and is expected in the lineup for Friday against Moose Jaw.
