Duron Carter in legal trouble.
Duron Carter's tenure as the Saskatchewan Roughrider has taken a major turn.
The 26-year-old was arrested late Thursday night at Saskatoon airport, and released pending a March 27th court date on a marijuana possession charge. The team says it's working to gather more information and will monitor the situation. Carter was named the Riders’ most outstanding player for the 2016-17 CFL season, amassing 73 catches for 1,043 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 starts at wide receiver.
He also started one game as a defensive back, in which he picked up nine tackles and an interception which he ran back 43 yards for a touchdown.
By the end of the season, he was named both a CFL all-star and a West Division all-star.
Carter signed a one-year extension with the Riders on Jan. 22.
Carter came to Saskatoon for the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner and attended a Friday morning media gathering.
