University of Saskatchewan Huskie men’s volleyball brothers Derek and Tyler Epp were honoured by the Canada West Monday by being selected as conference all-stars.
The elder Tyler (pictured in the air) was named a Canada West Second Team All-Star, while younger brother, Derek (number 14), was named to a Canada West All-Rookie. It is the first selection to an all-star team for both.
Tyler, a fifth-year middle blocker, played in all 24 matches for the Huskies in 2016-17. The Kinesiology student and team captain tallied 175 kills in the season with a .367 hitting percentage. He also had 81 total blocks and recorded 238 points in the season. Rookie setter, Derek, quarterbacked the Huskies in 23 matches recording 642 assists. He added 31 kills, 107 digs and 35 blocks in his rookie campaign.
Saskatchewan finished the Canada West season 13-11, just missing a postseason spot.
