Similar to the January 13th Colorado rocky mountain high when the Rush routed Colorado 17-12, first place in the NLL West is on the line again Friday night as Saskatchewan takes a 5-1 record up against the 4-1 Mammoth.
Marty Dinsdale, Robert Church and Curtis Knight carried the scoring load with three goals each against the Mammoth and Ben McIntosh potted a pair to go along with 8 assists. A 6-2 third-quarter run put the game away with Saskatchewan leading 14-7.
The Rush defence held Colorado's leading scorer Ryan Benesh to a goal and two assists, but Eli McLaughlin fired four goals including a dunk in the last minute with the game well out of reach.
Rush goalie Evan Kirk's 33 save effort earned him second-star honours.
However, Colorado hasn't lost since, including a 14-13 verdict over Vancouver last weekend. The Rush rebounded from a stunning 16-15 overtime loss to Buffalo at SaskTel Centre two weeks ago to post a precarious 13-12 overtime win last weekend in Calgary, a game in which they led 8-2 in the second quarter.
The Rush-Hour pregame show from Colorado on 98-COOL starts at 7;30 with game time set for 8;30 p.m.
The weekend closes out Saturday with Vancouver invading SaskTel Centre looking for their second win in eight starts. Game time tomorrow night is 7;30 with the Rush-Hour pregame show signing on an hour before.
