The run all the way to the National Lacrosse League final has resulted in post season recognition for two members of the Saskatchewan Rush.
Mark Matthews was named to the first all-pro team after putting up 113 points during the regular season. The 6’5” 230lb forward from Oshawa, Ont., scored 40 goals and 73 assists during the 18 game campaign leading to the playoffs.
Meanwhile Mike Messenger made the all-rookie team as one of the best first year players on defense/transition. The numbers put up by the 6’2” 230lb product of Surrey, BC, included 7 goals, 8 assists and 40 PIM.
