Once again the Saskatchewan Roughriders are adding from the free agent market.
Saskatchewan signed American defensive lineman Zach Minter Tuesday morning. Minter, who is six foot two and 300 pounds, joins the Riders after spending last season with the Calgary Stampeders where he picked up six defensive tackles and two quarterback sacks, starting three of five regular season games played. The 26-year-old Montana State product spent the previous season with the B.C Lions after signing with the team in March, 2015. Previous to coming to the CFL Minter spent time in the NFL with Dallas, Cincinnati, and Chicago.
Meanwhile the Riders also made the rumoured Bakari Grant signing official. Grant is a six-year veteran having originally entered the CFL with Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2011. After spending five seasons with the Ti-Cats, Grant joined the Calgary Stampeders. In ten games last year Grant collected 625 yards and four touchdowns on 44 receptions. The Riders also picked up international linebacker Glenn Love, who picked up 11 defensive tackles and 1 fumble recovery in 10 games with Calgary last year, adding 21 special teams tackles
