More than 80 4-H steers from eight clubs were sold in a sale that was the final event of the 2017 Prairieland Junior Ag Showcase.
The Grand Champion Steer was shown by Riley Bohrson of the Hanley 4-H Beef Club and sold to Bohrson Livestock Marketing for $3.75 a pound.
The Reserve Grand Champion Steer was exhibited by Jenna Schmidt of the Carlton Trail 4-H Beef Club. The buyer was Blair's Group of Companies, Watrous.
CJWW continued its long time support of 4-H by purchasing a steer from Cody Schumanski of the Crown Hill 4-H Beef Club for $1.91 a pound.
The sales average was $2.76 a pound.
The Grand and Reserve Champions in the Sheep Show were also sold in the auction. Caybri Letkeman's Grand Champion went to R & F Livestock of Warman for $1,075. Zane Letkeman's Reserve Champion fetched a winning bid of $700 from Saskatoon Agri-Auto Parts. The Letkemans are both members of the Crown Hill 4-H Beef/Sheep Club.
