I forgot to P-V-R Friday's Rider-Ottawa game. I know what the final score ended up being and I've seen the highlights. But, I have set the P-V-R for tomorrow morning's replay and will have more thoughts after that!
That promising start for Scott Flory's football Huskies is but a distant memory. Two straight wins, followed by three consecutive losses, has the U of S clinging to the fourth and final playoff spot in Canada West. The good news for the Dogs is this is the bye week for Thanksgiving with two of their last three games at home...and none of the three against Calgary! I still think Saskatchewan has a good chance of finishing 5-and-3 and who knows what that will get them!
I still don't think it should be this way, but one man...obviously...can make a big difference to a hockey team. Cam Hebig's long-awaited return to the Saskatoon Blades Saturday made the Bridge City Bunch look like an entirely different and dangerous club! Instead of worrying about goal-scoring, the main concern now for the Blue and Gold will be keeping pucks out of their own net!
And, the schedule-maker got it right in the Prairie Football Conference this year. Saturday's season-finale for the Saskatoon Hilltops takes them to Edmonton to play the Huskies with the winner getting first place and home-field advantage throughout the P-F-C playoffs! Nice!!
